The Cultural and Creative Economy Lab (CCLAB) was created as part of the IDB Cultural Center in 2013 as a space for the development of collaborative and innovative projects for the advancement of culture and creativity as agents of social and economic development. Our work at the lab is focused on three interrelated areas:

• Collection, analysis and dissemination of statistics
• Identification of best practices and promotion of innovative concepts
• Multidisciplinary generation of ideas to stimulate political engagement

With the SICLA, along with the Ministries of Culture and highest appropriate authorities, the IDB seeks to facilitate the access to cultural information with the goal of providing an additional tool to analyze the actual state of the cultural sector in the Latin American and Caribbean countries. With this tool of analysis, the IDB seeks to assist in optimizing the cultural public policy design process aimed at improving the lives of the people in our countries.
